MY TOP 10 WATERCOLOR TECHNIQUES

1. GLAZING
I use glazing technique because it produces a transparency effect of the artwork. Mostly I used this techniques for the doors and windows of my perspective plans.

2.WET ON WET

I recommend to use the wet on wet techniques for rendering the clouds, environment features and landscape formation of your artworks.

3.DRY BRUSH

This technique is one the easier technique in watercolor rendering because all you need is to have a dry brush then a little amount of watercolor pigment to paint your work.

4.MASKING
I used masking technique for the part of my painting or drawing that I need to prevent having a marks or watercolor shades, I used this technique for borders,walls of my plan and etc.

5. WET ON DRY
For the wet and dry technique ,I would prefer to use this in my Elevation Plans to produce the texture I want to my drawing, because wet on dry can also easily stroke on your drawing materials like the watercolor paper.

6.LIFTING OFF
Lifting off technique maybe the use of small amount of sponge ,a cotton or a piece of paper that remove the part of your artwork when it place on a wet paint.

7.TISSUE PAPER
The use of tissue as a technique for watercolor rendering ,it produces a different shades, an abstract and a freehand rendering like the other technique, by placing the tissue paper on watercolor pigment then directly apply it on your paper.

8.SALTING

If you want to produce a paint that shows a roughness and texture centered, you may use the salting technique. By easily sprinkle or drop the salt on your paper then wait until its dry.

9.WASH

This technique can easily done with a more water content than the color pigment to achieve a wash like of your painting.

10.MONOCHROMATIC

Monochromatic technique is a kind of drawing representation that show show value and color of your whole painting, maybe it is used of less water-more pigment or less pigment -more water ,it is up to you on how you present the monochromatic drawing.
